Reminder: Entrance for Non-Emergency Department Visitors During Construction at Sturdy Memorial Hospital
ATTLEBORO, MA (May 20, 2026) — This is a reminder to all Sturdy Memorial Hospital staff, visitors, and non-emergency patients to use the hospital main entrance during the duration of the construction of the Emergency Department. Free valet parking is available for those using the hospital main entrance. To access that valet, pull up in front of the Cancer & Specialty Care Building to leave your car. Registration for outpatient services has been relocated to the hospital’s main entrance to improve convenience for patients during the project. Please find a map with directions detailing how to access the hospital main entrance below. In addition to the Park Street entrance, an access road from O’Neil Boulevard is open to provide easier access to the valet and the hospital main entrance.

Patients are asked to only use the entrance on Tappan Avenue if they are visiting the Emergency Department. While construction is underway into 2027, Sturdy Memorial Hospital is also offering free valet parking to patients visiting the Emergency Department. That valet can be accessed just outside the Emergency Department entrance.
Sturdy Health appreciates the community’s patience and support during this period of transformation. The new Emergency Department will significantly improve access, efficiency, and the overall patient experience.
Where do I go if I'm not going to the emergency room?
Individuals visiting Sturdy Health for outpatient services, including the Cancer & Specialty Care Building, imaging, same day surgery, pain clinic, or endoscopy appointments should enter through the main hospital entrance to register. Valet service for the hospital and Cancer & Specialty Care Building can be accessed in front of the Cancer & Specialty Care Building. Please do not use the Emergency Department entrance for these services.
Where can I park if I’m going to the emergency room at Sturdy Memorial Hospital?
Emergency Department patients can utilize complimentary valet parking at the Emergency Department entrance on Tappan Avenue seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. At other times, Emergency Department patients can use a limited number of parking spaces outside the Emergency Department and in Lots L and M.
What if I want to park my own car?
Patients visiting the Emergency Department who wish to self-park are encouraged to use the lots along Park Street (Lots L and M). A new parking lot with primarily handicap-accessible spaces is now open at the corner of Park Street and Tappan Avenue for Emergency Department patients. To access the hospital main entrance, patients and visitors should use the free valet parking in front of the Cancer & Specialty Care building or the lots near the main entrance and on Pearl Street and Gardner Street.
Background Information on the Project
Construction is now underway on a 38,000-square-foot Emergency Department expansion aimed at meeting the region’s growing need for timely, high-quality care. Once complete, the new Emergency Department will include 50 private rooms, two state-of-the-art trauma bays, rapid triage areas, on-site imaging and CT scanning, and a dedicated 12-bed behavioral health unit.
