A Bold Plan for a Bright Future
In 2022, our organization embarked on a journey that began with developing our health system’s Strategic Plan. We recognized the need for a roadmap to help us prioritize projects, invest wisely in improvements, and navigate the winds of change that continue to impact healthcare. We created a bold vision and plan to guide Sturdy Health over the next few years.
Our vision is to be a trusted partner to our patients, communities, and each other — inspiring hope and enabling better health and quality of life.

Creating Spaces that Enhance Care Delivery
In addition to marking our 110th anniversary with a unifying new Sturdy Health brand umbrella in 2023, we also took an exciting first step forward in our Master Space Plan. Our Master Space Plan is the culmination of a robust community and system needs assessment and a study of our existing facilities to determine how they can be renovated, expanded, or replaced in order to better serve the needs of our people in the region. The plan builds on other facility upgrades that were completed in 2022, including a major renovation of our Same Day Center, Operating Room, and Central Sterilization.
In October 2025, we are opening our new, 66,000+ square foot Cancer & Specialty Care Building that is state-of-the-art and located on our hospital campus. This new facility replaces several older facilities and greatly improves the experience we provide to our patients, physicians, providers, and team members. Also, advancing the plan, in August 2025, we broke ground for the Emergency Department Expansion and Modernization.
