Sturdy Welcomes New Fleet of Hospital Beds

Comfort and safety play quiet but important roles in healing. At Sturdy Health, that idea is behind a recent change patients at the hospital may notice the moment they settle into their rooms.
The hospital has updated its inpatient beds as part of a sizable investment timed with National Patient Safety Week. The goal is simple: to make patients safer, more supported and, whenever possible, a little more at ease during their stay.
The new state-of-the-art beds include features designed with both patients and caregivers in mind. Low-height settings and built-in fall alarms help reduce risk, while gel pressure mattresses are intended to protect the skin during longer stays. There are also small but meaningful touches, like a built-in extender for taller patients and USB charging ports and phone holders within easy reach, that can make a hospital room feel a bit more comfortable.
For care teams, additions like turn-assist technology and integrated scales help with the everyday work of safely moving and monitoring patients.
Some patients are already noticing the difference. One shared that they “couldn’t have been happier with the new bed,” adding that they “had the best sleep … it is so comfortable.”
It’s not the kind of change that draws much attention on its own. But for someone spending days in a hospital room, a safer, more comfortable bed can make a meaningful difference.
