How do you approach care?
My clinical approach is patient- and family-focused. I strive to understand each patient's unique experience and to create a supportive environment. I hope that patients will feel safe and heard when they visit with me. By combining active listening and evidence-based medicine, I am able develop trusting relationships with families and promote healthy wellbeing.
What inspired you to pursue a career in healthcare and your specialty?
I have always been inspired by my mother's ability to care for others. Growing up, she would bring me to take care of my grandparents and other relatives who needed help. I pursued a career in nursing practice to professionally and compassionately solve health problems. As a Family Nurse Practitioner, I get to care for people across their lifespan at their best and worst of times. I particularly enjoy working with teenagers and young adults who are experiencing transition in their life.
Why did you choose to join Sturdy Health?
My favorite clinical rotations were based in smaller communities, and I was excited to join Sturdy Health to refocus on community-based care. I appreciate building long-term relationships with families and understanding the context that they live in.
What are your personal interests?
I love traveling, cooking, and gardening. I like to travel to different botanical gardens and national parks across the country and in other countries. I also enjoy visiting local farm stands and cooking with fresh ingredients.
