Vascular Care & Treatment
Our vascular care and treatment options include both diagnostic and surgical services. The vascular lab, which is located on the ground floor of Sturdy Memorial Hospital, offers a number of noninvasive services that assist physicians in diagnosing blood flow complications such as stenosis, blood clots, and blockages. It's equipped with the latest technology, such as specialized transducers that produce detailed color-flow images. The color images help physicians detect turbulent blood-flow problems without performing an invasive procedure.
Vascular Surgery
Our vascular surgeon sees patients at Attleboro Surgical Group and performs surgery at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. Through combining skill and experience with the latest techniques and technology, we are able to provide surgical relief from ailments of the circulatory system. Some of the procedures performed include:
- Angioplasty and stent placement
- Aortic aneurysm surgery
- Bypass procedures to correct circulation problems
- Carotid endarterectomy
- (stroke prevention surgery)
- Radio frequency closure of varicose veins
- a less invasive procedure than excision of varicosities
- Shunt procedures for dialysis
Cardiac Rehabilitation for your recovery
Sturdy Health's HeartFITT Program is an outpatient exercise and education program for individuals who need cardiac rehabilitation while recovering from a vascular or heart event. It is designed to gradually progress exercise endurance and help you return to normal, daily activities.
If you are recovering from an angioplasty, stent, bypass procedures or heart event, ask your doctor if you are a candidate for cardiac rehabilitation. Doctor referral is required for our HeartFITT program and may be covered by insurance. If you do not qualify for our HeartFITT Program then you may benefit from our WellFITT Program, a 12-session, self-pay exercise program that is also medically supervised and individually designed specifically for you and your goals.
