Sturdy Health is an independent, community-driven, fully-integrated health system that offers hospital-based care, emergency and urgent care, primary care, and specialty care at 25 locations throughout the region. We fulfill our not-for-profit mission by caring for our friends, family members, and neighbors living in Southeastern Massachusetts and neighboring Rhode Island. We are guided by a board of directors made up of respected and dedicated volunteers from the community, and we are led by a team of highly-trained healthcare professionals who have a passion for collaboration and excellence.

A Hospital with a 112+ Year History of Compassion

While we have evolved into a full-service health system with numerous thriving primary and specialty care practices across the region, Sturdy Memorial Hospital remains a vibrant part of our organization and a life-saving asset to our community. When Sturdy Memorial Hospital opened its doors in 1913 as a 15-bed hospital in the former mansion of James and Ada Sturdy, no one could have imagined the impact it would continue making more than a century later. Today, Sturdy Memorial offers 142-beds and a wide range of inpatient services, including an all-suite labor and delivery unit.

Emergency & Urgent Care Within Reach

Sturdy Health is here when you need us most. We treat tens of thousands of patients annually in our Emergency Department, and we treat thousands of patients each year at our Urgent Care location. Primary Care Just Around the Corner

With many retail and web-based care clinics popping up, it may be tempting to avoid putting off a visit to a Primary Care Practice until you “really need it.” Unfortunately, putting off Primary Care often ends in poorer health and fewer options. On the other hand, starting and maintaining an ongoing relationship with a Primary Care Practice has been shown to do just the opposite. Researchers at the journal Health Affairs found that patients who have a primary care physician or clinician benefit from better management of chronic diseases, lower overall healthcare costs, and a higher level of satisfaction with their care. A Wide Range of Specialty Care Close to Home

Sturdy Health has 25 practice locations throughout our service area, including Attleboro, North Attleboro, Plainville, Mansfield, Rehoboth, Seekonk, and Norton.
