Sturdy Memorial Hospital provides patient evaluations and an on-site Sleep Lab for advanced diagnostic testing. From your initial consultation through diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care, our team is committed to helping you achieve better sleep and better health.

Our Pulmonary & Respiratory Care team evaluates and treats many common sleep disorders, including:

Comprehensive Sleep Evaluations
The first step is a sleep evaluation appointment at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. During this visit, you’ll meet with a Sleep Specialist who will evaluate your symptoms, review your medical history, and determine whether a sleep test is needed to further evaluate whether a sleep disorder may be affecting your health.
Your evaluation may include:
- Review of your sleep concerns and medical history
- Physical examination, which may include an evaluation of neck circumference, oral airway structure, and nasal passages
- Assessment for sleep-related breathing disorders and other sleep conditions
If a sleep study is recommended, our team will coordinate insurance authorization, schedule your testing either at home or in our Sleep Lab, and guide you through the next steps in your personalized care plan.

When diagnostic testing is recommended, some sleep studies may need to be performed at our on-site Sleep Lab.
During the sleep study, advanced monitoring technology records information such as your breathing, oxygen levels, heart rhythm, brain activity, body movements, and sleep stages. These results provide valuable information that helps your provider accurately diagnose your condition and recommend the most appropriate treatment.
To help you feel comfortable, each private sleep room features:
- Spacious room with window
- Private bathroom with shower
- Specialty sleep bed
- Recliner
- Television
- Writing desk
After a sleep test, patients will schedule a follow-up appointment with the provider to review results and discuss treatment options and ongoing care.
