Sturdy Health Wound Management & Specialty Services at Sturdy Memorial Hospital
When you call for an appointment, you're taking the first important step in your wound care. We will treat your wound until it is healed and will provide your primary care provider with regular updates. You will continue to see your regular doctor for all other routine medical care.
At your first visit, you will be brought into an exam room where a specialized wound care nurse will evaluate your wound and review your medical history and general health.
Your Treatment Program
A case manager will be assigned to coordinate your care. Specialized testing, procedures, or imaging may be necessary as part of your treatment. Your healing journey will typically involve weekly visits to provide treatment, assess the progress of wound healing, and make any changes needed. Our wound care team will work in partnership with you. You will be instructed on home wound care, dressing changes, and ways to protect your wound from further injury.
You are a vital part of your treatment program - any time you have questions about your treatment progress, remember that we are available to you. We want you to ask for help when it's needed. We are dedicated to healing your wound.
