Aldrige Awuku, MD, MPH is a board-certified family medicine physician at Sturdy Health Primary Care – North Attleboro in Massachusetts. Dr. Awuku received his Doctor of Medicine from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in St. Maarten. He earned his Master of Public Health from Touro University of California in Vallejo, California and Bachelor of Science in biology from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York. Dr. Awuku completed his family medicine residency at Hackensack Meridian Health Ocean University Medical Center in Brick, New Jersey.

How do you approach care?

My approach to care is centered on listening, building trust, and partnering with patients to achieve their health goals. I believe every patient deserves compassionate, personalized, and evidence-based care. By fostering open communication and shared decision-making, I strive to help patients feel informed, supported, and empowered to take an active role in their health.

What inspired you to pursue a career in healthcare and your specialty?

I was inspired to pursue a career in healthcare by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives. I chose Family Medicine because it allows me to care for patients of all ages, build lasting relationships, and focus on prevention, wellness, and whole-person care throughout every stage of life.

I chose to join Sturdy Health because of its strong commitment to patient-centered care and its dedication to the local community. Sturdy also holds a special place in my family’s story—each of my three children was born at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. That personal connection makes it especially meaningful to care for the same community that has meant so much to my family. I’m excited to build lasting relationships with my patients and be part of a team that is committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care.

What are your personal interests?

Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my wife and our three children. I enjoy traveling, staying active, exploring new technology, watching soccer, and relaxing with a good movie. I value family, lifelong learning, and making the most of time together, whether at home or discovering new places.
