Understanding Preeclampsia

Preeclampsia is a serious condition associated with high blood pressure that can develop during pregnancy or, in some cases, after delivery. It most often develops during the second half of pregnancy but can occur up to six weeks postpartum.

Because preeclampsia can affect both you and your baby, early recognition, regular prenatal care, and appropriate medical monitoring are important for reducing the risk of serious complications.
