Sturdy Memorial Hospital is now home to a Focal One® Robotic HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) System, an advanced, noninvasive technology used to treat prostate cancer without surgery or radiation.

HIFU uses precisely targeted ultrasound waves to heat and destroy cancerous tissue in the prostate while helping protect surrounding healthy tissue. Performed by local urologists at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, this noninvasive outpatient procedure may help patients experience less pain, a faster recovery, and a lower risk of side effects compared to traditional prostate cancer treatments.
