Surgery Preparation

Before the scheduled day of surgery, you will either have a pre-admission interview by telephone or at the hospital. During this interview, a day surgery nurse will review your medical history, answer your questions, and discuss your care plan so you know what to expect.

On the night before surgery and morning of surgery, follow the instructions given to you about eating, drinking, smoking, and taking medications. Not following these instructions may increase the possibility of problems and may result in your surgery being delayed or rescheduled.
