Cardiac Rehabilitation for a Healthier Heart

HeartFITT Program

Sturdy Health’s HeartFITT Program is an outpatient cardiac rehabilitation program for people recovering from a heart event. The program combines medically supervised exercise, education, and support to help you safely improve your endurance, build strength, and return to your daily activities. Nurses and exercise physiologists supervise your care and create an individualized FITT (Frequency, Intensity, Time, Type) exercise plan based on your needs and goals. Exercise sessions typically meet two to three times per week.

The program also includes education about heart disease risk factors and nutrition guidance to help you maintain a heart-healthy lifestyle and reduce your risk of future heart problems. You will learn about healthy eating, weight management, blood pressure and cholesterol management, and smoking cessation. Counseling may also help you manage stress and feel more confident about caring for your heart health.

How to Get Started

If you have a heart event or procedure, such as a heart attack, coronary artery bypass surgery, heart valve replacement/repair, heart transplant, angina and/or angioplasty, stent placement, or congestive heart failure (CHF), ask your doctor if cardiac rehabilitation is right for you. A doctor’s referral is required for our HeartFITT program and may be covered by insurance.
